The Mentor Match program at Stillwaters Center emphasizes the value of peer support. The program provides emotional support and information to cancer patients and their loved ones. Volunteers who have experienced a cancer diagnosis provide support and information to those who have recently been diagnosed, are actively receiving treatment, or have had a recurrence. Mentors have conversations with cancer patients and their loved ones by telephone contacts or in-person visits, sharing their personal experiences and offering emotional support to assist patients in making informed choices.
